I like to go to work taking public transport. It’s cheap, environmental friendly, it avoids traffic, and most important the struggle to find a parking lot.
Furthermore, since I have given up control over the journey, I don’t have to be fully present and in command like when I ride a bike, or a car, hence I can read, and use my time productively.
One of the things I enjoy the most, is the feeling of staying in the hustle and bustle, be surrounded by people who are living their lives, with all their happiness, clashes, wildness and conformity.
I remember Al Pacino, personifying Satana in the Devil’s advocate saying: “Learn the subways, Kevin. Use them. Stay in the trenches. Only way I travel“.
